With silver, With gold, Bridal sedan chair to the door is an ongoing project inspired by Chinese funeral rituals. Burning is an important ritual in Chinese funeral tradition which represents building the bridge between the real world and afterworld. The project uses data mosh technology to visualize the act of burning in virtual world, posing question on the boundary between reality and the virtual, body and spirit. The installation of the this project was exhibited at Powerlong Museum, Shanghai.
《有了金,有了银,扎彩花轿到门前》探讨中国传统丧葬习俗在虚拟空间中的存续。在丧葬习俗中,燃烧作为一类重要的仪式,象征着逝者及其所有物的实体被转移到灵魂世界。而传统的丧葬仪式,不只注重逝者灵魂的纪念,更通过大量燃烧纸质祭品,将生者的物欲投射到对逝者的思念之上。而近年因“文明、环保”而被官方大力鼓励的网络墓地与网络祭扫,将对逝者灵魂的纪念转移到了线上空间,在某种程度上担负了传统燃烧仪式的角色。但当网页墓园被构建为线上商店,游客可以通过购买并赠送虚拟商品纪念逝者,它也继承了传统丧葬中对物欲的纪念。作品在虚拟空间中构建了一个墓园,并利用故障技术处理过的商品广告“点燃”这个空间,探讨精神与肉体,网络与现实,思念与欲望这三组关系。作品的实体装置版本曾展出于上海宝龙美术馆。
